Renata Szczygiel Seward received her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School
of Law in 1994.
She is licensed to practice in the State
of Illinois and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She is a member of the
federal trial bar.
Renata Szczygiel was previously
associated with the law firm of Crystal, Heytow & Warnick, P.C.
where she was a trial attorney representing plaintiffs in personal injury and contract matters, as well as
insurance companies in fraud defense and subrogation cases.
She is also the former First Chief Deputy General Counsel to the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook
County, and was named by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin as one of 2005’s
“Top 40 Lawyers under 40.”
Renata Szczygiel is a past Chairperson of
the Chicago Bar Association’s Civil Practice Committee, a member of the
Advocates Society (association of Polish-American attorneys), and a
former member of the Notre Dame High School for Girls Alumnae Board.
She reads, writes and speaks Polish
fluently.
