Edward C. Seward III received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 1993.

He is licensed to practice in the State of Illinois and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He is a member of the federal trial bar.

Ed Seward was previously associated with the law firm of Phillips, Healy & Allen, P.C. where he was a trial attorney concentrating in insurance defense and subrogation matters.

He is also a former Assistant Attorney General for the State of Illinois where he was a trial attorney in the General Law Bureau.

Attorneys in the General Law Bureau are the primary defense attorneys for the State of Illinois. As an Assistant Attorney General, he defended state agencies and employees in a variety of civil cases including medical malpractice, personal injury, construction litigation, civil rights claims, contract matters, and administrative hearings and review.
